Interestingly very political movie
28 November 2002 | by Polat AydinSee all my reviews

This movie is in no way similar to Conan the Barbarian. Its story line is very socialistic. It is about poor people trying to take the control of "the fire" from ruling class. Altar who is in a way similar to Conan the Barbarian is trying to steal the fire to give it to the under-classed people. Its story line resembles like todays "War for Oil" mentality. Considering the budgetary constraints of Turkish movie industry back then (unlike today), this movie end up coming out pretty good actually. It is worth seeing. You should be able to find a VHS copy of this movie from one of the online sellers. Just type the keyword "Altar, Turkish Conan" you will get someone who is selling this title.
