Sex & Nudity

  • TV-MA for violence and gore, language, drug use, disturbing images, and some sexual content including rape
  • Some, themes deal with controversial topics, including prostitution and rape. Rape is discussed when investigating crimes but it's never shown. Men and women buttocks are shown rarely. Instances of this include a streaking prank in the police station, a strip search of a male suspect with minimal nudity shown. Overall, the show tends to deal with the themes more than actually showing the actual events, and sex is scarce throughout the series. No graphic nudity is ever shown.

Violence & Gore

  • Graphic and semi-frequent violence. Many bloody crime scenes are shown. There are a few short instances of graphic torture, a few scenes of rape, etc.


  • Very limited use of "fuck," though there is frequently inappropriate conduct and profane terms aimed at minorities, gay people, etc., etc.
  • R-rated profanities like "nigger," "faggot," "dick", and "cocksucker" are used intermittently.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Drug use and references are commonplace, being quite graphic in most cases.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A number of intense scenes throughout.
