A chance meeting brings Renée, an aspiring television news journalist, to Baxter, a college student majoring in hotel administration. Over the course of the next two years, Baxter falls in love with Renée, who encourages him to pursue his real love of photojournalism. Renée appears not to return Baxter's feelings, however, and she dates another man from the news show. Baxter fantasizes about confessing his love to Renée with a variety of outcomes.
A simple love story... that's not so simple.
Did You Know?
Oh my God, Baxter, what in the hell are you listening to?
Simon and Garfunkel.
Simon and who?
Garfunkel. They're a folk duo from the sixties. You know, counter culture, Kent State, Haight-Ashbury?
Oh, Haight-Ashbury! I hear there are some really cool shoe stores there.
And you consider yourself an informed member of the press?
