Storyline
Mankind is threatened by a race of creatures called the Nightbreed, people who have, either willingly or through deception, succumbed to supernatural beings. And hunting them down is a man named Shido. A detective. A warrior. A vampire. If you're 17 or older, you like gothic anime, and you happen to be lucky enough to see this in a video rental outlet, WATCH IT. If none of the rental places near where you live have it, JUST BUY THE DAMN THING! I promise you won't regret it. The main characters are Shido, a vampire who works as a detective and battles to keep humans safe from the "Nightbreed" (Different types of demons that possess people, basically), his partner Yayoi, a female member of the Japanese goverment group N.O.S., that is also dedicated to keeping the world safe from the supernatural, Guni, a creature who calls herself a fairy but looks more like a tiny gargoyle, (but is good, anyway,) and Riho, a high school girl whose parents were killed by the nightbreed and who works as Shido's secretary. Riho has a crush on Shido and she knows he's a detective but dosen't know he's a vampire. Shido's unique powers include the ability to summon a blood sword which he uses to fight evil. The main bad guy here is Cain, the one who turned Shido into a vampire centuries ago and who holds the secrets to Shido's past life. (Shido has forgotten what his life was like as a human.) I don't want to reveal too much, but I'll just say that the ending dosen't quite tie up all the loose ends, and leaves you wanting to find out what will happen to the characters next.
