V. Shantaram doesn't need words to explain how great and real his film are even now after so many years...

It is hard to say that V. Shantaram was a wrong man making wrong movies at the wrong time...

Because, most of them look so afresh and so current, that it wouldn't classify as the films made in 1939 era.

The film tells about how a policeman comes to save a call girl from the wrath and world of prostitution by marrying her but things don't go as they expect it to.

The film is said to be a remake of his classic Marathi film Manoos, releasing same year but since i have watched the both, only difference that comes to notice is of language, everything else is same. While some also say that it an alternate-language version.

The film stars Shahu Modak as Moti, Shanta Hublikar as Kesar, Ram Marathe as Mannu among many others.

The film is a social dram which not only hits hard for being direct and real but also of the performances it had to make it not look fake.

The film's songs like "Man Paapi Bhoola", "Kashala Udyachi Baat", "Gulzar Nari Nyari" etc are sentimental and nostalgic.

At last, even Charlie Chaplin praised the marathi version, so i think i need not to say anymore words to make you see it.
