Three best friends get together and bury a box, making a pact to open it at midnight at their high school graduation. In the small town in Georgia that they live in, things soon change. One is little miss perfect, one is an engaged prom queen, and the other is a pregnant outcast. On the night of their graduation, they open the box and they strike up a conversation. Suddenly, one brings up the topic of her going to Los Angeles for a record contract audition. They all decide to go together and they leave. With a little money, they set out on the road with a guy named Ben. When one of them tells the other a rumor that he might be a homicidal maniac, they are all scared of him. When they reach Los Angeles, Lucy (Britney Spears) falls in love with Ben and against her father's wishes, she stays and she goes to the audition. Written by Kara

Did You Know?

Britney Spears wears a Southern University T-shirt in the movie, and on its poster. However, Southern University is a predominantly African American school in Baton Rouge, La. The reason for this is because costumer Wendy Schecter found the shirt at an L.A. thrift store, she explained that: "Her character, Lucy, is a college-oriented girl." Not only was the snug shirt a perfect fit. But, Britney Spears is from Kentwood, La., which is just 75 miles away from the 17,000-student Southern's main campus. The school enjoyed the publicity. "We're tickled pink," said Chancellor Edward Jackson, who approved of the shirt's usage. "The fact that we're African-American makes little difference." The school's bookstore saw sales of Southern clothing items increase drastically as a result of this free publicity. See more »

Inexcusably Inexcusable
20 September 2002 | by ba_xianSee all my reviews

This film is terrible! You can tell it was written for Britney alone. This 'film' basically covers a road trip, discovering yourself, and other bull. It is overflowing with cliches, LITERALLY!!! And in this film, Britney's mum tells her she was a 'mistake'. This whole film was a mistake. The acting was terrible, the script was so wrong and cliched i had to vomit in my popcorn box. the best bit was the end, because it was over.

To sum it all up: DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE
