Alex D. Linz mentions at 29:19-29:30, "Originally, when I did the screaming or yelling during the swirly scene, it was more like actual yells of pain and anguish, but they wanted to change it because I was sounding like I was actually in pain."
In Max's flashback about how the bullies were plaguing the school, there was a brief scene where Megan tells Dobbs that she keeps her money in a piggy bank that "looks just like you." This was left over from a deleted scene where Dobbs tries to get Megan to give him her lunch money, but then she refuses (by sarcastically telling him the above line), which then results in him stealing her clarinet from the locker as retaliation.
In an instance of serendipity, the shot of Max crawling through a ventilation duct in the school (39:39-39:50) was the last shot of Alex D. Linz filmed, while the shot of him coming out of the duct (39:51-40:06) was one of the first shots of him filmed.
(at around 13 mins) Alex D. Linz described his experience of being thrown into a pool of mud by saying "This has got to be one of the most disgusting experiences of my professional life."
Max was supposed to be somewhat flustered talking to Jenna after walking into a door while looking at her, but Alex D. Linz flubbed his line and nearly got the giggles (12:02). The filmmakers liked the effect and put that take into the film.
The production crew shot a scene of Troy McGinty throwing a mud and sawdust covered Max Keeble into a garbage dumpster (which Alex D. Linz described as "so nasty") but decided not to put it into the film nor into the deleted scenes on the DVD.
Max has got a Bill Goldberg Alarm Clock with WCW Heavyweight Championship Belt.
(at around 56 mins) The two levers Max is using in the cab of the junkyard crane are actually a toilet plunger and "The Club," a vehicle steering wheel security lock.
(at around 1h 1 min) The fish eyed effect when Max realizes his family is not moving to Chicago after all, was achieved by doing a close-up using a wide-angle lens, while the swimming distortion effect in shots of his parents was achieved using a "mesmerizer" lens that could be dialed around while in use.
Superintendent Bobby "Crazy Legs" Knebworth's nickname was taken from real life former Chicago Rockets/Los Angeles Rams halfback Elroy 'Crazylegs' Hirsch.
The "bulldozer" isn't a bulldozer, but a John Deere 444H front end wheel loader a bulldozer has a straight pushing blade and usually caterpillar tracks.
Greg Lewis is credited as Janitor, but on his nameplate stands Anthony.
