A completely normal 13-year old girl, living a completely normal life. She goes to a completely normal school with her best friends, Miranda Sanchez and David "Gordo" Gordon. They help her in situations where she is stuck and needs help and depends on them. Her home life is completely stereotypical, with a nuclear family that consists of her gnome-loving dad, Sam; level-headed mom, Jo; and bratty younger brother, Matt.
The broadcast version Lizzie McGuire: Gordo's Video (2002), is different than the DVD version for some regions. In the original version, Gordo not only distorts Miranda's voice for the final cut of his film, but also distorts everyone else's and blurs out their faces, including Kate and Claire. Most of the students watching the film look very amused. In the DVD version however, Gordo only distorts Miranda's voice but shows the faces and uses the original voices of the kids he filmed. The students watching look embarrassed and upset. See more »

It always puts me in a good mood to watch something light-hearted before going to work. No it isn't realistic, I don't care. But really, who watches TV for realism anyway? So it isn't The Matrix or Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Rurouni Kenshin or DragonBall Z or Star Wars or Dead Poets Society - all of which I like, depending on my mood. This show is just plain fun, an ESCAPE from reality. If you think it's stupid and worthless don't watch it, and don't waste your time trashing it on a message board.
Don't watch a kids show and expect the quality of a Shakespeare. Don't expect a thirteen year old to be able to act as well as Sean Connery. Will you people making fun of LaLaine's name please get a life?
