- A pregnant woman, Kate, questions whether or not she should leave her husband, Ollie, despite him being the object of envy for many of Kate's friends.
- Kate teaches a bicycle maintenance class. She is pregnant and does not want to wait three weeks for an abortion, so she tries a parsley diet recommended by her herbalist friend Chloe. All of Kate's friends are envious of her boyfriend Ollie, "The King of Contraception", and urge her to tell him about her pregnancy. But Kate wonders if she should leave Ollie.—Will Gilbert
- Kate, a bicycle maintenance instructor, and Ollie have been dating for five years, ever since they were in high school. Their small group of friends see them as the perfect couple who will stay together forever. That longevity should be strengthened by the news that Kate receives that she is pregnant, despite Ollie being hyper-vigilant about contraception, since he literally is the "King of Contraception", self-coined as a person who advises young men and women about the issue. Kate decides not to tell Ollie as she decides not to keep the baby, but to tell her two closest friends, Lila and Chloe. Since she feels she can't wait the three weeks required to abort the fetus, she takes herbalist Chloe's advice to consume vast amounts of parsley as a natural but safe form of abortion. As Kate goes through her "parsley days", she has time to think about her pregnancy and her relationship with Ollie, who she knows idolizes her, but with who she believes she is falling out of love. Despite receiving advice from Lila, who is currently going through the honeymoon phase of a relationship with Jack, and from Chloe, who sees her own lesbian relationship with Pauline as being different than what heterosexuals face, Kate has to figure out how valid her feelings are and if they are tainted by the pregnancy. Edna of "Frank and Edna", a spandex wearing senior couple in her class and whose relationship she would like to emulate, may give Kate the clearest sense of what she's going through.—Huggo
