Storyline

A short, B/W music video, featuring the song "Ghost of Stephen Foster" by the Squirrel Nut Zippers.

After a short intro, in which we see a "period", highly stylized old time band playing the intro music, the Fleischer Bros. style animation kicks in. Theme: A young couple check into a hotel, only to find it a seething, writhing hotbed of horrific surrealism. They're dealt with shabbily, put through a series of bizarre polymorphic straits, as the host regales them with the story of his nightmarish encounter with the Ghost of Stephen Foster.

At the end, their wits nearly shattered, they roar off in their convertible, one presumes, to find tamer accommodations.

Truly Awesome!

I saw this at the Sick and Twisted animated film festival in St. Louis. It was really cool, the song by Squirrel Nut Zippers is one of their best. The animation was really creative (and old school) and well designed, and the short itself was very original. Recommended for everyone. 10 out of 10.
