Josh Duhamel, James Franco Turn Death Into Entertainment in 'The Show' Trailer
In The Show, a thriller directed by Giancarlo Esposito (of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fame), Josh Duhamel plays Adam Rogers, a reality show host who finds himself in an unusual situation.

Rogers is a Chris Harrison-like figure who hosts a dating show that ends in an attempted murder, wherein the runner-up tries to shoot and kill the winner.

As a result of Rogers' quick thinking, he is heralded as a "national hero" (here, James Franco plays an excitable morning show host who heaps praise on Rogers), and

Top 20 New Year TV episodes

Wesley Mead Jan 2, 2017

As the New Year arrives, we salute a few favourite TV episodes depicting this momentous time of year...

New Year is a time for reflection on the past and resolution for the future, an opportunity to consider what you’ve achieved and what you’re yet to work on. It’s also a time to stay up well past midnight, partying the night away with friends and family, potentially embarrassing yourself in the process. That dichotomy ensures that the New Year is fertile ground for television, and the finest comedies and dramatic series use the moment to allow for contemplation amidst the alcoholic excesses. Here are twenty New Year episodes that offer an entertaining take on the aeons-old celebration - from emotional character pieces to geeky genre takes and old-fashioned barrages of seasonal comedy.

Grange Hill: revisiting 12 memorable school trips

Alex Westthorp Nov 16, 2016

Remember when Grange Hill went to the Isle Of Wight? Or the escaped puma? Here are 12 memorable school trip episodes from the early years...

With just over thirty years worth of screen time, there are plenty of memorable moments in Grange Hill. From its inception in February 1978 the programme proved both entertaining and controversial. It tackled many difficult subjects head-on: bullying, vandalism, racism, censorship, shop-lifting, school uniform protest, teenage pregnancy and - most famously of all - drugs. However, every now and again it would attempt to give viewers a break from the everyday and head off on a day trip or weekend excursion.

Four Doctor Who Stories You Should Watch During The Break

By: Aaron Goins

This time of year, we would normally be gearing up for new episodes of Doctor Who. The last two seasons started on August 23rd and September 19th, respectively. But this year is different. Back in January it was announced that Series 10 of Doctor Who will not air until Spring of 2017. That means there will be a long 16 or so months separating the finale of Series 9 from the premiere of Series 10.

So what do we do during the wait? Well, there was another major announcement in January: Steven Moffat will be leaving Doctor Who and new showrunner Chris Chibnall will be taking over starting with Series 11. With Series 11 not coming until 2018, we have even longer to wait to see what his version of Doctor Who will look like. But it’s never too early to start doing your homework.

Chibnall has written five episodes of Doctor Who making

42, The Power Of Three, Dinosaurs On A Spaceship and more - the Doctor Who work to date of the show's next showrunner...

Who is Chris Chibnall? You might know him as the creator of Born & Bred, Law & Order: UK and Broadchurch amongst others, but as readers of this site, it's more likely that you know his scripts from Doctor Who and his tenure as head writer of Torchwood. On Friday, the BBC announced that Steven Moffat will be stepping down as the showrunner of Who after next year's tenth series (since its revival), to be replaced by Chibnall in 2018.

Over the weekend alone, there has already been a lot written and said in speculation about what the new show-runner, Doctor Who's third since Russell T. Davies combined the roles of head writer and executive producer when he revived the series in 2005. I, for one, welcome our

Mindy Newell: Run, You Clever Boy. And Remember

Clara: I don’t know where I am. It’s like I’m breaking into a million pieces and there is only one thing I remember: I have to save the Doctor. He always looks different. I always know it’s him. Sometimes I think I’m everywhere at once, running every second just to find him. Just to save him. But he never hears me. Almost never. I blew into this world on a leaf. I’m still blowing. I don’t think I’ll ever land. I’m Clara Oswald. I’m the impossible girl. I was born to save the Doctor. • The Name of the Doctor, Doctor Who, Series 7

The Doctor heads to Cineplex theatres for the Doctor Who Christmas Special

After two years away from “Who,” time-travelling heartbreaker River Song (Alex Kingston) will return as The Doctor’s wife in this Christmas’ "Doctor Who" special.

River last appeared in Series 7, where she met Impossible Girl Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) and became separated from her parents, The Ponds (Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill). Some people (read: me) haven’t recovered since.

The upcoming Christmas special will be River’s first meet-up with The Doctor’s newest incarnation, played by Peter Capaldi (In the Loop, “The Thick of It”), and we cannot wait to see how that pans out. River’s never been in sync with The Doctor’s time travelling, so Capaldi’s recent adventures in time and space could be old news to her or brand new information. Either way, River has scored a hat-trick with the Christmas special, appearing in “Who” episodes with three Doctors: David Tennant, Matt Smith,

Doctor Who: 10 Reasons Clara Oswald Is The Best Companion Ever

Tumblr

Clara Oswald has certainly got tongues wagging – and in more ways than one – since she made her premature debut at the start of Series 7.

First introduced as an energetic, soufflé making… erm, Dalek, she didn’t even get to step aboard the Tardis before she was sensationally killed off in the very same episode and the shock twist laid the foundations for what soon became one of the biggest mysteries in Doctor Who history. Now, almost three years later, she’s about to embark on her third series as the Time Lord’s coveted companion and there really is an overriding sense that it’ll be third time lucky for everybody’s favourite impossible girl in Series 9.

It hasn’t been an easy ride to get to this point, though. Life as the Doctor’s sidekick is hard enough at the best of times but Clara really has
