By this time Christie (and most of the more foresighted producers of shorts ) were going increasingly for easy-watching sit-comedies of the sort that would eventually be the stock-in-trade of the smaller screen. Three is still slapstick but it now takes second place to "character" and "situation" (at least in theory). The Smith Family series, of which this is episode twelve, is typical. Nothing much happens but nothing much needs to happen. The Smiths go to the country for a fishing holiday but their rural hosts are in the midle of their Spring cleaning....
