Coral Atkins tries to open a home for disturbed children when she's distressed by what she sees of current institutions and their uncaring attitude. Unfortunately, she has no qualifications, little money, and only the celebrity of her role in "Family at War" to help her. But she bulls her way through the red tape, finds advice, hires experts, and finally opens her home only to discover that the burdens and joys of caring for these children may be too much for her, and that her own past holds the key to her deep empathy with them. Written by Kathy Li
I recorded this when it was on television ages ago...and I loved it then and still do! I recently watched it again, which has led me here to leave my comments.
Sarah Lancashire portrays Coral Atkins as a determined, sensitive person, with her desire to help severely disturbed children shining throughout.
I was touched by this story, and defy anyone with a heart not to be!
