Over the spring of 2000, sixteen average Americans (divided into two tribes which eventually merge into one) were sequestered on the deserted island of Pulau Tiga for 39 days. For their stay, they must learn to live as a tribe, although eventually, it is everyone for themselves. They compete in challenges for "luxuries" (a barbecue, a phone call home, etc.) and immunity. Every three days, the losers of the latter challenges must face tribal council, where they will account for their actions by voting one person off of the island. At the end of day 39, there will be only one survivor left who will leave the island with one million dollars. Based on the Swedish game show, "Operation Robinson."Written by
Six merged tribes are made of combinations containing the names of their starting tribes: Chuay Jai (Thailand), Chaboga Mogo (All-Stars), Xhakum (Guatemala), Aitutonga (Cook Islands), Solarrion (Cagayan) and Huyopa (San Juan del Sur). See more »
I don't know how anyone can say that this is the worst season of Survivor ever -- the initial challenge - just getting to their camps - was an 11 mile trek through very dense jungle. That sure seems challenging to me. And what a way to start off a 39-day contest! Wow! I think it's just because no one from either tribe has made a big impression or stood out yet, at least for me, anyway. You know, I don't think people have figured out who to cheer for yet. But, it is still early; someone will pull to the forefront eventually. We might not like who it is, but that's the whole point now, isn't it? There have been ties in tribal council in past seasons. There always is some sort of tie-breaker. I am withholding judgement on "worst/best" until I've seen more.
