Riverdale Boss on Archie's Dilemma, Jughead's Future With Betty… and Is the Black Hood Really Finished?

Warning: The following post contains spoilers from Wednesday’s Riverdale season finale.

The good news: Archie was just voted student body president! The bad news: He might have to serve out his term from a prison cell.

Riverdale‘s Season 2 finale served up plot twists like burgers and milkshakes: Hermione is the new mayor! F.P. handed over control of the Serpents to Jughead! Veronica… bought Pop’s?! (Yeah, we’re still processing that one, too.) But the most shocking twist came at the very end, when Archie was about to celebrate his victory in the school election. Sheriff Minetta

10 Things You Didn’t Know about “Josie and The Pussycats”

Josie and the Pussycat’s did not receive much praise when it was released. It’s been lauded as one of the worst movies ever made but it definitely carried a larger message than people were willing to listen to at the time. The music industry seems bent on repeating and droning on with the same artists year after year in a binge of music styles that never seem to change until something and/or someone finally comes along to challenge the status quo. Josie and the Pussycats were kind of ahead of their time when it came to the industry and the

Riverdale Season 2 Episode 7 Review – ‘Tales from the Darkside’

Liam Hoofe reviews the seventh episode of Riverdale season 2…

Riverdale is one crazy show. By this point, fans of the show are more than acclimated to the show’s weird and wonderful storylines, and its over the top characters. This week’s episode, however, gave us something different entirely – a new narrative technique that allowed the show’s writer to have plenty of fun with the ongoing Black Hood mystery.

The episode opened with ominous title cards, telling us that the stories we were about to see were three twisted and macabre tales associated with The Black Hood murders. The show didn’t have the usual Jughead narration, instead, the episode was split into three individual stories, all of which were slightly interlinked in the end. So, with an episode that was effectively three episodes in one, let’s take a look at each individual story from ‘Tales from the Darkside

  • DailyDead
"There are some things worse than airline food," and a punk rock band is about to find that out the hard way while 30,000 feet in the air in the proof of concept short film Dead Air. Directed by Geoff Harmer and written by Peter Hearn (the filmmaker behind Scrawl), Dead Air is a love letter to ’80s practical effects and flat-out fun horror comedies, and while it has been filmed, it needs your help getting across the finish line.

From Dead Air's Indiegogo Page: "Dead Air is a story about a group of female punks on a plane to their final gig who come up against a horde of evil little creatures who want nothing more than to drag everyone to hell.

Riverdale season 2 episode 6 review: Death Proof

2.6 Death Proof

Tonight's episode began with another obvious yet still true observation from Jughead - that we often wear masks that cover who we really are. Although this episode was written and filmed before the Harvey Weinstein/Louis Ck/et al stories broke, its impossible to view it outside of the context of that news cycle and how it gave rise to the #metoo movement. There's a lot going on in this week's episode but the most important element here is far and away the Cheryl/Nick/Veronica storyline. Last week we saw Nick St. Clair go transform from New York City-based textbook case

2.5 When A Stranger Calls

"I told you we were the same."

Okay, pick your jaw off of the floor and breathe, because that was one, exhilarting, eventful hour of television.

We are only five episodes in to this 22-episode season and the glacial pace that marked Riverdale's first season is but a memory at this point, because there's a lot that went down tonight. Before we get into the meat and potatoes of tonight's installment, a brief recap: The Black Hood tortures Betty by making her cut her friends out of her life unless he will murder them

Why The Film “Josie and the Pussycats” Was Way Ahead of Its Time

It might seem that there are at lot of great arguments for why Josie and the Pussycats were way ahead of their time, but one rings out the most to me upon reading the source article, and that’s the commercialization of music. In other words, music is just a stepping stone a lot of times to get to bigger, better deals that have little if anything to do with the real reason why so many musicians get into the act. It might seem like they’re all having the time of their lives in videos and onstage and it’s true, during

You Won't Be Able to Get Riverdale's Catchy "Milkshake" Cover Out of Your Head

The intense drama and complicated love stories aren't the only reason we love Riverdale - we're also obsessed with its insanely catchy soundtrack. While the town tries to save Pop's from closing down during Wednesday night's episode, Josie and the Pussycats fittingly sing an addicting cover of Kelis's "Milkshake." Not only does Hbic Cheryl Blossom become an honorary member of the girl band, but they even perform the whole thing on the roof like the total divas they are. Let's just say, it was the cherry on top of another crazy episode.

Riverdale Recap: Milkshook

Need to catch up? Check out our previous Riverdale recap here.

Riverdale went retro this week with a throwback night at Pop’s diner… but I’m a lot more worried about the town’s future, actually.

Pop’s is now a ghost town, thanks to Fred’s shooting; vandals have even spray-painted “Death Diner” on the walls. (Hey, Fred didn’t die! Fact-check your graffiti, people!) And Archie’s still on edge, chugging energy drinks and pressing Sheriff Keller about finding the masked gunman. He goes further off the rails when he learns of Miss Grundy’s death, and

2.2 Nighthawks

Oh man. That ending. Wow.

Before I tackle that shocking final scene, let's go back to the beginning. The start of this week's instalment is a seemingly simpler (though still kind of shitty) time for Archie and the gang compared to where we are when the credits roll. As the episode opens, Jughead's narration informs us that Pop Tate's Chok'lit Shoppe is the "heart of Riverdale." And indeed it may very well be. In fact, the main reason that Betty makes saving Pop's into her crusade du jour

Josie and the Pussycats Cast Reunites for the Film's Sweet 16
Who doesn't love an epic reunion? Well, that's exactly what went down on Tuesday when the cast of Josie and the Pussycats reunited for the movie's 16th anniversary.  According to Oh No They Didn't, Gabriel Mann, Missi Pyles, Rachel Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and Rosario Dawson did a panel along with the film's co-writers and directors Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont. The panel was moderated by BuzzFeed's Jarett Wieselman. Oh No They Didn't also reported that Kay Hanley (who did original vocals in the film) performed. Sadly, the members of the boy band Dujour were not at the reunion.  For those who haven't seen the 2001 film, the movie is about a...

The CW is Developing a Riverdale Companion Series Called The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina

So, I just started watching the series Riverdale because of the hype surrounding it. I'm only four episodes in and I still don't really understand the appeal. People keep telling me it gets better, but maybe this show just isn't for me.

If you are a fan of the series, you'll be happy to hear that the creators are expanding the Archie universe and developing a Sabrina The Teenage Witch companion series called The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. According to THR:

The hourlong drama reimagines the story of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age tale that traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft, naturally. The new iteration is described as in the vein of Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist and finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
