A successful female mystery author in a vulnerable stage of her life falls for a murky ex-con. Her life slowly starts to resemble one of her darker novels and that's not a good thing.
I only showed interest in this movie because I am a huge fan of Peter Coyote, and I could hardly imagine him as a bad guy, which he wasn't in here he was a good guy who had been hurt and done some bad things. Meredith Baxter is dumb as a bucket of shrimp heads in thus film! She pursues him not the other way around then comes to her senses and cut some loose and let's just say he doesn't take it too well I don't want to give anything away because it is a really enjoyable film. The only thing I didn't like about it was some of Maurial's backstory was missing! What made her an alcoholic why was she so vulnerable.? It is really hard to find I had it on VHS years ago. Right now it is available on YouTube. It would be nice for Amazon Prime or lifetime to get this movie, it is an old classic based on a short story from 1979.
