Storyline

Two Greek soldiers are trapped on the mainland in Asia Minor in 1922 trying to get back to their platoon. The one, seriously wounded, encourages his fellow villager to leave him and save himself after promising to take care of his wife. The second soldier safely returns to his village, falls in love with his friend's wife and moves in with her. However, the wounded soldier did not die after all, but survived.
