Storyline

In a colourful Russian Cossack tunic, the indefatigable French director, George Méliès, plays an energetic dancer who knows how to impress his audience with his extraordinary set of moves designed to capture applause. Amazingly and quite unexpectedly, the dancer begins running up and down and across the walls, performing all kinds of extreme acrobatics, such as handstands, flips and splits like a weightless human fly, as the elegant and fashionable ladies cheer enthusiastically. Now, that's a really impressive party trick. Written by Nick Riganas

He Created a Device That Has Been Much Copied
13 November 2017 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

This is a showcase for another special effect (remember Fred Astaire dancing on the ceiling). Meleis is showing off for a group of girls. He walks on walls. He walks on ceilings. He is quite dapper as he does these things. So he is a human fly. The creativity of this man when movie cameras were barely invented boggles the mind. This is also painted, so it is in color. Wonderful.
