I saw "Everybody Does It" in the Woods Hole Film Festival last year. I don't know where you can see it now, but this film should be out there. To simply sum it up as a story of 7 gen X friends losing and finding love and/or sex, fails to demonstrate how truly sharp and original this film is. To understate Marcella Hoekstra's talent, lets just say this woman has a future. If this is her first feature, I can't wait to see what else she has to offer.
The only flaws with this black and white film are technical. The sound isn't of the best quality and some of the scenes are a bit dark. Nothing bad enough to inhibit any enjoyment, though. It has everything else -- excellent writing, acting, directing and editing. As far as the cast is concerned, I can't believe that they don't have more credits listed. I did not expect such a great ensemble of talent for a low budget film.
I'd love to see this film distributed. At the very least, get it online!
