This time, the great magician and master of illusion enters the minimalist stage disguised as a comical Pierrot with a pointy hat and takes a seat in the middle. Out of reach, there's a stool with a bottle of sparkling wine on the right, while on the left, there's a glass and a candle on another stool waiting for him. Fortunately, however, distance is not a problem, especially when your limbs have a mind of their own and a tendency to detach freely at will. What follows next, is an unprecedented act of an extraordinary dislocation, as the performer's right arm disconnects from the body and reaches for the bottle. Did you miss it? Don't worry, you'll get the chance to see it again, as the illusionist repeats the trick again and again, until the unbelievable finale.Written by
Having watched many of these early Melies films, the disembodied are a regular staple. But this one is special because while the clown that is at the center of the scene sits on a chair, his arms leave him an retrieve things for him. At another point, he splits into six parts and does all kinds of craziness. It is pretty seamless too. Don't miss this one.
