Storyline
A charming girl, in her dress reminiscent of the sea breeze, comes to the main square of a small town. An old song begins and enchants the heart of a young man - A deaf-mute fisherman from Smyrna falls in love with a singer from Chios. "Kaiktsis" as they call him, falls in love with Evdokia when she sings at a party in Izmir. When she returns to Greece, he is unable to forget her, he decides to find her again without considering the cost. One night he swims to Chios and he arrives illegally on the Greek island. Locals and police are shocked to see a stranger who came from the sea without a passport and ID. Evdokia saves him by revealing their secret bond. "Kaiktsis" is released and sent back to Turkey. However, his return to Izmir does not simplify things. His comrades reject him, considering him a spy and "Kaiktsis" is increasingly isolated. Written by a_lektor
The places in this movie are something like a dream, where you can see some beautiful mediterranean islands with their typical way of life. In this peaceful feeling a great love story between a turkish guy and a greek girl is beginning. The two main actors are good but the other ones don't look realistic at all. That is the same critic about the love story, as the guy doesn't speak very much and so it's hard to understand his feelings. The girl, even if she's greek, looks beautiful but instantly wants to get married. I think that the director should had taken more time to show the birth of their love. This movie deserves to be seen only for the real great gameplay of the two main actors and the mediterranean sea.
