Ellen Kuras to Direct Hulu’s “Catch-22” Limited Series

Kuras: ARRIChannel/YouTube

Ellen Kuras is taking one of the most influential novels of the 20th century to the small screen. The Oscar nominee and Emmy winner has signed on to helm two episodes of Hulu’s upcoming “Catch-22” adaptation, Deadline reports. She’ll also serve as a producer on the six-episode limited series.

Published in 1961, Joseph Heller’s satirical novel is set during WWII. The story is told from multiple points of views, but focuses primarily on Captain John Yossarian, a U.S. Army Air Forces bombardier. “Furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him,” Yossarian’s “real problem is not the enemy, but rather his own army which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service,” the source summarizes. “Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to avoid his military assignments, he’ll be in violation of Catch-22,

Suicide Squad 2 Brings in Fifty Shades Producer Michael de Luca

The creative team for Suicide Squad 2 is starting to take shape. We've known for a little while now that Gavin O'Connor (Warrior, The Accountant) is on board to write and direct the sequel, but now Warner Bros. has brought on a very established producer in the form of Michael De Luca to help handle Suicide Squad 2 behind-the-scenes. This is just a small part of the major changes being made to the way that DC Films is being handled at Warner Bros. now in the wake of Justice League's disappointment.

It sounds like Michael De Luca will primarily be focused on Suicide Squad 2 and won't be managing a big chunk of the upcoming DC slate for the studio. As for his resume? He's produced many prestigious movies like The Social Network, Moneyball and Blow. But he's also got some misses on his record as well, having been

Todrick Hall on the Best Advice He's Received from Beyoncé & Spending Nye with Bff Taylor Swift
When Beyoncé gives you advice, you take it!

And that’s exactly what rapper and Broadway performer Todrick Hall did when he got to work with Queen Bey while choreographing the music video for her song “Blow” off her 2014 Beyoncé album.

“She basically told me, ‘Don’t scroll down. Think about everything that you post before you post it but once you post it, don’t apologize for the things that you’ve done,’ and I think that’s really important,” Hall, 32, tells People exclusively. “Before, I was very impulsive. If I was upset or emotional I would post something

‘American Made’ Blu-ray Review

Stars: Tom Cruise, Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright Olsen, Alejandro Edda, Caleb Landry Jones, Jayma Mays, Jesse Plemons, Lola Kirke | Written by Gary Spinelli | Directed by Doug Liman

Tom Cruise reteams with Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman for this slickly entertaining, if slightly familiar comedy thriller based on the true story of pilot-turned-drug smuggler-slash-CIA conscript Barry Seale.

American Made begins in 1978, with bored Twa pilot Seale (Cruise) being tapped by CIA agent Schafer (Domhnall Gleeson) to fly covert surveillance missions over Central America. When those missions involve Colombia, Seale is approached by the Medellín Cartel, who offer him large sums of cash if he smuggles cocaine into America. Things quickly spiral out of control as the CIA task Barry with running Russian guns to the Contras in Nicaragua, only for the Cartel to make him a better offer for them, which he cheerfully accepts. Meanwhile, having relocated to smalltown Mena,

New to Streaming: ‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer,’ ‘It,’ ‘American Made,’ ‘Battle of the Sexes,’ and More

With a seemingly endless amount of streaming options — not only the titles at our disposal, but services themselves — we’ve taken it upon ourselves to highlight the titles that have recently hit platforms. Every week, one will be able to see the cream of the crop (or perhaps some simply interesting picks) of streaming titles (new and old) across platforms such as Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, and more (note: U.S. only). Check out our rundown for this week’s selections below.

American Made (Doug Liman)

Perhaps the most interesting thing about American Made is that Tom Cruise still has the clout to get something like it into theaters. Guided by his Edge of Tomorrow collaborator Doug Liman, we are told the impossibly true story of Barry Seal, a bored pilot who becomes a C.I.A.-funded drug smuggler and living embodiment of the Reagan era’s bullshit-tery. Taking structural cues from stuff like Goodfellas and Blow,

19 Music Video Cameos You Totally Need to See Again
Liam Payne‘s most recent music video for his single, “Bedroom Floor,” is one to remember – and not just because of its catchy beat; the song’s video features Bella Thorne, who portrays a girl dealing with a flaky boyfriend.

Payne is hardly the first singer to feature another celeb in his music video. Some are particularly iconic – think Liv Tyler and Alicia Silverstone in Aerosmith’s “Crazy,” or Lena Dunham, Cindy Crawford and more in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” – but there are a bunch we bet you forgot about:

Bergman's Spell

Mubi is showing the retrospective The Inner Demons of Ingmar Bergman from June 8 - August 28, 2017 in the United Kingdom.I've told this brief story of how I fell under the spell of cinema so many times I've become brazen to it. At eighteen years, in February 1993, I found Ingmar Bergman's Cries and Whispers (dubbed) at the video store. As Woody Allen spoke of the Swede in hushed tones, I decided I should try a film. Ninety minutes later I sat stunned and spellbound, not sure what to do or think, but surely sure I must be onto something. Cinematic rapture still has a psychical aspect for me, the torque the sedentary body goes through while coping with the images before it. I can always tell how good a film is if my armpits smell after. The body doesn't lie. Ingmar Bergman is an easy crush—one writer I know

Jimmy Kimmel to return as 2018 Oscars host
Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd will return as producers.

Jimmy Kimmel will reprise his hosting duties at the 90th edition of the awards ceremony to be held on March 4, 2018.

Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs made the announcement today that Kimmel, De Luca and Todd will be reuniting for Hollywood’s biggest night.

While the performance of all three received generally favorable reviews, they were ultimately overshadowed by the badly fumbled best picture announcement that incorrectly named La La Land the Oscar winner rather than the actual winner Moonlight.

Kimmel serves as host and executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live! now in its 15th season. The show has earned six Emmy nominations in the outstanding variety series talk category, the writing for a variety series category, and the variety, music or comedy series category.

De Luca earned best picture Oscar nominations for producing Captain Phillips, Moneyball and The Social Network and has more than 60 film credits including
