Storyline

Long ago, a mysterious being known as Hoborg created a world called the Neverhood, made entirely of an odd substance known as "Klay." However, Hoborg was lonely and, using a mystical "life seed", created a "Klay man" that he called Klogg. Klogg was evil, however, and stole Hoborg's mystical crown, which was his secret to life; without it, he fell into a deep sleep. Luckily, Willie Trombone and his pal, Big Robot Bil, used a "life seed" to create Klaymen. Now, Klaymen must journey throughout the mysterious world that is, the Neverhood, solve puzzles, dethrone Klogg, revive Hoborg from his long sleep, and save the Neverhood. Written by NeverhoodMaster

Trivia

At least two references to Christianity can be found in the game; the story in the Hall of Records is in fact a parody of the biblical story of man's fall from grace. As for the other, listen to the song that can be heard in "Sound Effects Record #33" during the radio puzzle, it is in fact the song "Kumbaya" played in reverse. See more »

Alternate Versions

The game had two unofficial Russian releases. Both took unique approaches to translating the enormous amount of text inscribed on the Hall of Records (an affectionate Bible parody describing the backstory of the game's universe). One version replaces the stories with the game's walkthrough guide. The other replaces the text with random Russian and Soviet cultural jokes, anecdotes and references to Tuborg beer. See more »

A challenging game with fun stuff
15 October 1999 | by ab-2See all my reviews

If you are good at memory puzzles and into a game that is all clay you will like this game. This game is action packed and a little bit comedy to make the setting. If you are able to beat the game you can chose two endings a good one or a bad one. Overall it is a good game and you should but it.
