Sex & Nudity

  • Infrequent very mild partial nudity in some episodes. In some episodes, the children are in their underwear (wearing only briefs or a nightgown), and in one episode, two boys walk in on a female character taking a bath, however, only her legs and bare shoulders are visible.
  • In the third season, some evolution sequences depict the children nude as they merge with their Digimon partners, however, no genital detail is depicted, and a female character's chest is completely flat. In the Japanese version however, Ruki's nipples are visible.
  • Rear nudity is infrequently depicted in the original Japanese version, but is removed completely from the English dub.

Violence & Gore

  • Contains frequent animated violence, including hand-to-hand combat, stabbings and the use of projectiles (as the anatomy of some Digimon characters include artillery in lieu of biological limbs, for instance).
  • Characters are frequently injured and killed, though, most of them dissipate into digital matter, and any blood is depicted infrequently. Many of the more violent acts have been removed from the English dub.
  • In one episode, a Digimon character is impaled by another character's claw. No blood appears in this scene, however, the claw is depicted protruding from the victim's back. The victim screams in pain and falls to the ground. The character dissipates and dies.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A cigarette appears in a character's mouth in one episode, and in the third season, a regular character is frequently seen fiddling with his lighter.
  • One episode contains discreet references to magic mushrooms, instead referred to as the "mushrooms of forgetfulness" in the English dub.
  • Contains some references to alcohol and alcohol use in the Japanese version, however, any mention of alcohol is usually substituted for a substance more suitable for child consumption in the English dub.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Contains some violent scenes and moments of trauma that may distress younger viewers.
  • In the third season, a character becomes deeply depressed upon the death of a loved one, and is overcome by a powerful force that feeds on this character's melancholy.
