College student Lewis decides to drive across the country to see Venna, a friend who doesn't know that Lewis is interested in her romantically. Goofs

[1:20:20]Rusty Nail dials 911 from a motel room. In motel room phones, you have to dial 9 to get an outside line so he would have to dial 9-911. DIaling 911 would have connected him to room 91 if there even was a room number that high. See more »

Quotes

Rusty Nail: [34:11] Apologize.
Fuller Thomas: No. Listen, you sick fuck, you pathetic, lonely, walkie-talkie, freak show motherfucker. You're not getting anything from me. Know why? Because I have something that's more powerful then your psychosis. It's called a volume knob, and the only thing I have to do to make you go away is to turn it counterclockwise. You got that? You copy that?
Rusty Nail: You know, Black Sheep, you really ought to get that fixed.
Fuller Thomas: Get what fixed?
Rusty Nail: Your taillight.

an unexpected Joy
3 January 2005 | by See all my reviews

A couple of punk kids use a CB to prank off the wrong guy in this above average teen thriller. I say above average, but as far as teen thrillers go, with "I know what you did last summer", "Urban Legends", and their ilk cluttering up the sub-genre, a movie like this is frigging' Macbeth. Not to say this film is without flaws, Leelee Sobieski is pretty wooden in her role as Venna and there are plot holes that you can even drive Rusty Nail's truck through. However it does create some good tension, so I'm willing to overlook that.

My Grade: B-

Fox DVD Extras: Commentary by Director John Dahl; 2nd commentary by Writes Clay Tarver and J.J. Abrams; 3rd Commentary by Steve Zahn and Leelee Sobrieski; Making-of; Deleted scenes; 4 alternate endings; Voice auditions for Rusty Nail; White Rabbit type Branching option; Theatrical trailer
