Storyline

A thoroughly thought-provoking drama series based on the events in a womens prison. Bad Girls captures the highs and lows in the prison, and questions which side of the bar really is the most intense- its a world where the 'screws' versus the 'cons,' a world where anything and everything can happen, a world where the women really are vulnerable at the hands of the screws... Trivia

Linda Henry (Yvonne Atkins) and Nicola Stapleton (Janine Nebeski) played mother and daughter, Lorraine and Mandy Salter, in 'EastEnders' in the early 1990s. In 2011, the producers of the soap opera decided to write Mandy back into the series, with Stapleton once again playing the role. The following year, Lorraine too was brought back. However, by then, Henry was already in the series - playing Shirley Carter - so Victoria Alcock (Julie Saunders) stepped into the role. See more »

A Great UK TV drama about a women's prison..This drama touches on many female issues about sexuality, abuse, drugs and love. This show takes you onto a rollercoaster of highs and lows...There are characters you just love and some you love to hate! The lesbian story lines are strong and is a very positive look at lesbians and Bi-Sexuality. I am impressed by how the UK has surpassed the Canadian and US in what can be and not be shown on TV. Being a religious country I am happy that the production company has pushed the envelope to the front. This is a great TV Drama.
