After the liberation from the Turks, Astrapogiannos returns to his village. His name has become a legend and his accomplished songs. The situation that faces him is filled with bitterness. The landowner of the village has replaced Turkish Agha and tyrants the villagers. A fierce conflict erupts between landlords and Astrapogiannos.
