Surprisingly well-done

In terms of tone and story elements, Nurses of the 407th is actually closer to the original MASH book/movie than the TV series was. A lot of the acting is surprising naturalistic, with exactly the kind of humor that characterized Hooker's novel. Clearly, the filmmakers understood MASH the way Hooker meant it (as opposed to what the TV series became), and took that ball and ran.

Is it porno? Absolutely, yes -- the sex scenes go on far too long to pretend otherwise, taking up a good chunk of the running time. But in between those, it's also a reasonably successful funny comedy/farce. Search online to see it, because it seems nobody is selling their old VHS copies.
