19 One-Season Shows You Need to Watch, From ‘The Get Down’ to ‘The Tick’ (Photos)
It’s always a letdown when shows don’t get to shine. Even worse is when a series shows so much potential, but gets canceled after only one season. Many of them go on to become cult classics, but we still have to wonder what could’ve happened if they went on for longer. C’est la vie.

Get Down

The Baz Luhrmann Netflix series about the rise of hip-hop contains great music and set pieces that make it easy to binge-watch and enjoy. That’s not including the great leads, which instill the characters with an electrifying innocence and humanity. However, the streaming service canceled it after one season.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. One The Mighty Ducks star found himself arrested this past week. The charges aren't that offensive. But the mug shot is. And once fans got a look at it, they were utterly shocked.

Remember Goldberg the goalie? Well, he's almost unrecognizable in his portrait snapped by the Oroville police. The actor, whose real name is Shaun Weiss, was taken into police custody over the weekend. He was arrested around 1am for public intoxication. But it wasn't all that serious of an offense.

The police released Weiss without a citation after he spent a few hours in the drunk tank. This comes from the Oroville Police Station, who did manage to snap the man's mug shot before he left the building. The news first appeared on the Oroville Police Facebook page, where they claimed he had been arrested on suspicion of intoxication only. And that

Watch Jimmy Kimmel Prank Stoners With ‘Incredible Edible’ Placebo Candy
Jimmy Kimmel teased marijuana enthusiasts on Venice Beach with an “incredible edible” that was actually just a regular piece of candy on a new installment of “High Witness News” on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday.

Kimmel’s “incredible edible” is a variation on the tried and true placebo prank, which has been used to fool everyone from college freshmen attending their first kegger to ravers at Coachella (a version even appeared in the show Freaks and Geeks). Still, the pay-off on Kimmel was unsurprisingly delightful as stoners waxed lyrically about their faux highs,

You Completely Forgot Rashida Jones was in “Freaks and Geeks”

Given that she’s appeared in other shows as a rather nice person it’s hard to equate Rashida Jones with the image of Karen Scarfoli in the show Freaks and Geeks. Obviously a few famous faces showed up during the show but this was one that was kind of a surprise later on when people came to realize that the angry and ambivalent Karen was the same angelic person that went on to star in The Office and Parks and Recreation. To see someone turn from a heel to a good person on TV is kind of backwards in a way

‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ Is One of the Most Essential Comedies of the 21st Century

The comedy genre was forever changed in the early 2000s, and much of it was due to Judd Apatow. The Freaks and Geeks executive producer made his feature directorial debut with 2005’s The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which was warmly received by both critics and audiences but also marked a significant change of pace for the comedy genre as a whole. Instead of high-concept antics or heavy starpower, Apatow populated his film with a bounty of young talent, let improvisation lead many of the scenes, and concocted a deadly mixture of R-rated raunch and James L. Brooks-…
