Basically a comedy rap brought to screen. "I had this disabled girlfriend, see..."

Alan Berger plays an aspiring comic learning the ropes and pasting together a living, whose run-in with a recently-disabled astronomer leads to a chauffeur job, verbal sparring, and eventually sex. He's a cynic, she has real reason to hate the world, and it's, frankly, mostly proximity that drives their attraction.

But one thing i don't get: Erika Klein is a knockout; she could do better than Alan Berger if she were in a coma. Oh wait, Berger wrote the movie.

this movie is funny as hell. i saw is on june 18th, 2004 on the movie channel 2. i watched it cause rachel hunter starred in it, but the more the movie played, the more it grew on me. very funny dialogue, very original story & script, very good casting. i laughed out loud for a good 30 mins. i would like to meet alan berger and congratulate him on this master piece of comic genius. i hope the film will be released on DVD. it takes a step further than other romantic comedies such as some girl and pursuit of happiness. it shocks you, and thrills you with it's outrageous humor. i'm surprised that i haven't heard of this film before. i think a film this good would have got some great press. i rank this film among my favorites. probably in my top ten. and i just found out that this film on DVD thru netflix.

Not bad in a Henry Jaglom kind of way.

This is an adult film for people that enjoy watching character driven movies.

The plot is simple. A sucky comic takes on a job driving around a bitchy handicapped woman.

What makes this simple romance comedy charming is the real to life characters. The bitchy chick in the wheelchair is not always a mean spirited person. She's actually nice when she lets her guard down. And the sucky comic, cares about people in his own care free way. He's not one of those self-absorbed comics that just make basic cynical observations about life. He's a regular guy.

The movie isn't great, but has a breezy style that makes an hour and a half feel like twenty minutes.
