Trivia

There are two versions of movies with the same title as "Xu Mao he ta de nuermen" based on a novel written by Zhou, Ke-qin because original author Zhou, Ke-qin has different views about the adapted screenplay. These two versions were shoot by two film studios at the same year, and almost simultaneously released in China. August 1st Film Studio selected Fuli Wang, Gaowa Siqin starring, while Beijing Film Studio selected Li, Xiuming, Yang, Zai-bao starring. Beijing Film Studio's version is more faithful to the original novel which focus on the fate of Xu Xiuyun, on the other hand, August 1st Film Studio's version made Xu Mao to be the center of the tragedy of the plot.
