By the 22nd century, technology has evolved to great lengths and humans are depended on it more than ever. The plants died out and people now use genetically modified plants for food. The medicine also evolved, but so did new diseases. Space travel has become possible and first colonies are established. However, the first attempts to create artificial intelligence end disastrously and many are killed. Eventually, most people start to believe that further unchecked development of technology will lead to the eradication of the whole human race. The U.N. therefore agree to ban further tech research in many areas. However, some refuse to obey this decision and secede from the U.N. creating the Alliance. These include countries, states as well as space colonies. The U.N., convinced that what they're doing is necessary to save humanity in the long run, attack the Alliance territories. The war is led on Earth and in space. Eventually, the Alliance realizes that their best chance of victory ...
