Storyline

Charlie Cruikshank and fiancée Jennifer 'Jenny' Morgan planned, after their MBA graduation, to cohabit. By accepting the European voyage his parents offer as graduation present, Charlie crosses their plan to earn a down-payment in summer. So Jenny seeks a job, hastily enough to apply for photocopy-clerk in Oliver Caldwell's multinational HQ. By mistake, Oliver hires her as nanny for his beloved brats, Alex and Katie, who spend summer with him, unlike the school year with their aunt. Businesswise he keeps traveling to Paris and further trough Europe, ultimately meeting Charlie in Austria. Coached by limousine driver Nigel Kent, Jenny proves the first nanny the kids can't scare off. They even bond and team up against Oliver's fiancée, ruthlessly ambitious, child-hating VP Vivian Berger, who wants to get rid of them. Written by KGF Vissers

Trivia

The conversation in the background that the kids have with Nigel, while Jenny and Oliver go off to talk, is made up of the same recordings used earlier in the movie, after Jenny wakes up on the boat, and the kids tell her about the work that they've accomplished, and tips that they've received. Jennifer 'Jenny' Morgan: I heard about your good news, congratulations, the children will finally have a mother again.

Excellent Sunday afternoon fare
18 April 2001 | by WebwolfhoundSee all my reviews

I saw this film at Easter (bank holiday) and watched it only because I had nothing better to do. I loved it: OK the story is predictable and follows the usual family film, Cinderella format but the acting was fine, the kids were good (not overplayed) and it never felt "eighties". Basing the action in Europe was a great idea. Heidi Noelle Lenhart is outstanding, she lights up the film and is possibly even more gorgeous than Salma Hayek, so she should go a long way. Forget the family angle this is a movie for sad old fortysomething men with a few hours to spare fantasising about winning the lottery and buying thier own castle.
