‘Unicorn Store’: Brie Larson Gets Whimsical With Her Directorial Debut [Tiff Review]

When “Unicorn Store” opens, Kit (Brie Larson) is determinedly completing a painting awash in “My Little Pony” style colors and glitter, with a more is more approach that literally leaves the wall around her canvas splattered with her work. It’s an unintentional metaphor for the film itself, which alternately overreaches and underperforms as both a quirky comedy and indie dramedy, but nonetheless leans into both fairly hard.

New My Little Pony trailer introduces villain Tempest Shadow!

  • JoBlo
I never understood the hate for My Little Pony (nor, I guess the appeal either). To me, it always just seemed like harmless fluff that was cute and colorful, and not much else. But for some reason, whenever it gets mentioned, it either leads to undying praise for it, or vitriolic scorn. However, while it's not my cup of tea, to have a show that is positive and is about the powers of friendship can't be... Read More...

Crucifixion Trailer Exposes Shocking Truth Behind Nun-Killing Demon
Fans of The Conjuring franchise will be treated to yet another spin-off when The Nun hits theaters next summer, but if you don't want to wait that long, some of the key creative members of the franchise are bringing another terrifying nun tale to theaters with The Crucifixion. Lionsgate has just released the first trailer and poster for The Crucifixion, which is inspired by true events, but not connected to The Conjuring franchise, although it still looks just as terrifying. This movie doesn't follow a possessed nun, but rather a nun that may have been killed by someone who was possessed.

This horror tale centers on a journalist's surreal, supernatural investigation in a nun's shocking death. American reporter Nicole (Sophie Cookson) travels to investigate the possible murder of Sister Marinescu, sadistically crucified by a priest to vanquish a demon. As Nicole uncovers the weird tales behind this horrific incident, disturbing

Brawl in Cell Block 99 Trailer Uncages a Brutal Vince Vaughn
Rlj Entertainment has released a new trailer for the upcoming action-thriller Brawl in Cell Block 99, which stars Vince Vaughn in a decidedly non-comedic role. While Vince Vaughn certainly made a name for himself in comedic fare like Swingers and Wedding Crashers, to name a few, the actor is looking to branch out into more dramatic work, taking on the role of Bradley, who, as you can see in this trailer, is quite violent by nature. He'll have to put those violent tendencies to the test when he's locked up in this prison thriller.

In Brawl in Cell Block 99, a former boxer named Bradley (Vince Vaughn) loses his job as an auto mechanic, and his troubled marriage is about to end. At this crossroads in his life, he feels that he has no better option than to work for an old buddy as a drug courier. This improves his

Playing with toys, in a way, is like making your own movie.

As a child, there's a strong chance you used to create your own universes and narratives with some of your favourite toys. Whether it was with Barbie Dolls, Hot Wheels, Mr. Potato Heads or My Little Ponies, you got to choose the story, giving these inanimate objects their own voices and dialogues.

That's probably why toys are such an easy subject to turn into a movie. These are characters and beings that were literally meant to tell stories, and we've seen this on the big screen time and again.

This fall, My Little Pony: The Movie is coming to theatres, and while some of us are nostalgic for those colourful little horses, there are now new generations

Lionsgate Won’t Be Hasbro’s New Toy: Takeover Talks End
Toy giant Hasbro has ended talks to buy Lionsgate, Reuters reported on Wednesday. The two companies could not come to an agreement on a sticker price, the news agency wrote. An acquisition would have further cemented Hasbro’s role as an intellectual property player in Hollywood. Perhaps there’s another deal out there to be made. Hasbro has teamed up with Hollywood studios in the past on franchises like “Transformers” and “G.I. Joe.” Lionsgate is putting out the Nerf manufacturer’s “My Little Pony” movie in October, which now won’t be awkward at all. Also Read: Lionsgate Q

Hasbro Calls Off Talks to Buy Lionsgate
Hasbro has ended negotiations about possibly buying Lionsgate, a source confirms to Variety.
