Ingenuous countryman Ali Nazik moves to Istanbul, expecting help to become a famous singer, he finds Muhsin Kanadikirik, a fading music producer.

Muhsin Kanadikirik (Sener sen) is a middle-aged, single, ordinary man. He makes a living by producing music. Beside his business is getting lull, he has lots of trouble; householder wants to raise the rent, his old car needs to be repaired and he suffers from huge toothace. Since his gambel addicted assistant wasted the whole money on horse racing, Mr. Muhsin loses his office. But he is a scrupulous man, has his own rules and does not seem to compromise his principles. In additon to rough times at work, he starts to suffer huge toothache. Now life has turned into hell and this ordinary man doesnt know how to handle it. Thanks to his neighbours Rambo and Sevda (Sermin Hürmeriç), with raki and cologne the toothace has gone for a while and Mr. Muhsin sleeps like a baby.

One day ignorant, ingenuous countryman Ali Nazik (Ugur Yücel) comes to the coffee shop which is Mr. Muhsin's new office, and says, he wants to have his first album and be famous like tens of others do. Mr. Muhsin doesn't take this fool countryman serious and tries to ignore him, he also doesnt want to invest in arabesque genre. No chance for Ali Nazik, there is only one thing left for him to do: going back to his hometown. But Ali Nazik doesn't give up, insist on, follows Mr. Muhsin to his home, sitting in the middle of street and waiting for old man to realise him. Finally he gets in, that night Mr. Muhsin is not in his mood, the same shit again, suffers huge toothache, tries to get rid of this ache by his alternative solutions, drinks rak, then in a few hours he gets drunk, but still in pain. Ali Nazik wants to help him, in the middle of the night carries him on his shoulder, by the help of some relative from his homeland, Mr Muhsin's tooth has taken out and he is survived. Next day, Mr. Muhsin is so happy being get rid of the shit that he has been suffering from years, pain has gone, now he is happy, while hanging out at home, Mr. Muhsin realises the sound coming from the roof, it is Ali Nazik, singing very popular folksong from eastern Turkey, and he is very gifted. After the song Nazik tells his whole story, why he came to Istanbul. Then Mr. Muhsin feels pity for this fool guy and changes his mind, wants to give this young man a shot , takes him to one of his powerful friends pavillon. That night Ali Nazik appears on stage, but his hands shake, gets exited and paniced, doesnt seem comfortable when he was singing at the roof, he messes up.

Mr. Muhsin is disappointed, upset, shows his anger to Nazik and kicks him out of home. Sevda, a mature woman living with his daughter at the same apart, recognizes Nazik from the night at pavillon, feels pity for him and gives him a shelter. Next day Mr. Muhsin comes to Sevda's home, looks mindful, worries about Nazik, says he has nowhere to go in stanbul, ask her if she see him, have any information about him, then Nazik shows up behind the door, comes back to Mr. Muhsin's home. Upcoming days they apply television channel TRT and a few other song contests. Now Sevda, Ali Nazik, Mr. Muhsin team up, they keen to win the contestations. After Nazik failed in a race, they applied one another. But this time they get conned, soon after theyve realised the contest is fake and the money has gone. There is only one thing left to do for Nazik, going back his hometown. He is not disappointed, he thinks at least he had tried. Mr Muhsin is confused, mindful, disappointed, even he did his best for Nazik, he feels guilty, then he changes his mind again, doesn't let him go back to his home. Because now it is not just a matter of young man who wants to be popular and have his first album, it is his own work, his dignity and reputation, this is gonna be his salvation, he is eager to turn back his shining days, now one thing is clear: Mr. Muhsin gonna keep fighting.

Next day, Mr. Muhsin goes to his friend, pavillon owner, prosperous guy who has big balls, and well-known at the night life of the metropole, to request a loan for a new album of Ali Nazik. But he rejects, doesn't believe in Ali Nazik, things that he is not the right man. Even Mr. Muhsin insist on, he doesn't changes his idea about Nazik. ncoming days Mr. Muhsin thinks about solutions, hoping to find a way out. One of these days, when they thinking loudly about finding ways to have money, one snoop guy, Sakir, (Erdogan Sicak) from the coffee shop annoys Mr. Muhsin, says he is never gonna get it, he wouldnt be successful again in this job. There is more, this cheeky guy wants to take on a bet, saying that if they not gonna get it done upcoming days, he will give a hand to Ali Nazik and make him famous after providing finance for his first album. Mr. Muhsin is now hopeless, reluclant, exhausted and having no desire anymore. His all enthusiasm has gone, loses his faith to himself.



That night Sevda pops up, says she heart something about the financial problems they have faced, wants to help them with her money at the bank. But Mr. Muhsin rejects her, because he thinks that it is not right to waste life-saving invesment of this single woman. Then Ali Nazik get furios, says they need to accept Sevda's offer. While Nazik complaining about the mistakes Mr. Muhsin have made, he comes with an idea; they will organize their own music contest and the whole money will be used for the album. Finally Nazik and Mr. Muhsin have learned playing the game by the rules. Once they get swindled, now they will be the con man. Money keeps flowing, everything is set, all necessary arragements have done. But soon after young musicians realises the contest is fake and they get conned, they go to police to report Mr. Muhsin and Nazik. Now Mr. Muhsin has nowhere to go, he can't even drop by his own home, because the police has been looking for him and standing in front of his apart during 24 hours. Since they can not go to hotel beacuse of the lack of money, they spend a night at the car. Everything gets frustrating and annoying, as they completely get exhausted, huge debate begins between these two guys. Even the high tension and endless discussion, Mr. Muhsin gives his coat to Ali Nazik to protect him from cold. Because next day he has to sing songs for his album at the studio.

Next day Mr. Muhsin goes his apart secretly, after he took care of his flowers and got the money from home, wants to go out. Then hearts the cobs coming after him. While Ali Nazik and Mr. Muhsin running to the roof, they see Sevda is there, suggests them to hide at her home. When the police comes her floor, Sevda fakes and acts like she is talking to her husband, saying there is nothing to worry about the noise, policeman has everything under the control. Thanks to Sevda's trick, the cobs have gone. They decided to spend the night at Sevda's home. Mr. Muhsin and this single woman get closer during the night, they have slept at the same bad, talked about the life; being alone, getting married, having kids and of course, the past.

Next morning Mr. Muhsin finally gets that there is no way out, he decides to surrender. He tells Sevda where he put the money, adding that Osman and Ali should keep going, finish what they have started. And there is more: not only Mr. Muhsins house but the flowers, his precious friends should be taken care by Sevda. After he got into jail, everytings get OK. His assistant Osman and Nazik finally get it done, the album is on sale. One day Sevda, Osman and Nazik comes to jailhouse to visit him. Nazik suprises Mr. Muhsin, shows him his album and says it sells well. When they have gone, Mr. Muhsin listens this recently popular mans new album. Then he gets eager, talks his friend next to him that he will do great things after the jail.

But it is not that easy the way he thinks. Mr. Muhsin get shocked after the prison when he realises that almost everyting gets changed. The old singer woman who he visits regularly dies, his flowers get faded, and also his neighbourhood is getting changed because of the reconstruction. Sevda and Ali Nazik moves somewhere else, doesn't live at his apartment anymore. After all there is one thing left to do, finding Sakir and telling him that he won the bet. When he goes his place, he found Sevda, Osman and Ali Nazik working all together, he reminds Sakir the whole thing againts the bet. Mr. Muhsin finally realises that he loses his battle against corruption, popularity and cheap music. One last time, he goes to the pavillon where Ali Nazik appears on a stage. After the concert, he faces Nazik on the backstage. Like Ibo, one of the most popular arabesque singer of the country, he gets famous and everything is OK. Mr. Muhsin says his last words to Nazik and walks away. Only Sevda comes after him.
