Storyline

Sick, twisted and politically incorrect, the animated series features the adventures of the Griffin family. Endearingly ignorant Peter and his stay-at-home wife Lois reside in Quahog, R.I., and have three kids. Meg, the eldest child, is a social outcast, and teenage Chris is awkward and clueless when it comes to the opposite sex. The youngest, Stewie, is a genius baby bent on killing his mother and destroying the world. The talking dog, Brian, keeps Stewie in check while sipping martinis and sorting through his own life issues. Written by Jwelch5742

Trivia

Brian still insists on being an atheist, even though he's personally met God and Jesus Christ on several occasions. Seth MacFarlane, who uses his natural speaking voice to voice Brian; is an atheist. See more »

Goofs

The final screen of end credits for each episode contains a standard disclaimer about all characters being fictitious. In the second season episodes, this is misspelled "ficticious". See more »

Englishman #2: Yes, quite. Ripping good laugh.

Crazy Credits

Every few seasons, the instrumental version of the title theme that plays over the end credits is replaced with a new arrangement. To date there have been 5 main arrangements of the closing credits theme (this, of course, does not include "one-shot" versions that are relative to a specific episode.) See more »

Alternate Versions

Some episodes air in a somewhat-edited version in their original FOX airings and syndicated airings, but air in a racier, "uncut" version on Adult Swim, with some extra scenes or alternate versions of scenes. However, Adult Swim still bleeps the most profane of language. See more »

Musical and Comedy
11 October 2018 | by Hollywood_YodaSee all my reviews

Family Guy was Seth MacFarlane's foray into television almost 20 years ago. It's hard to believe that Family Guy is nearly that old already, even counting the years it was cancelled. It is amazing the show is still on tv, having been cancelled not once, but twice already. The audience loves the show, even though critics always compare the show to the success of The Simpsons.

Peter Griffin, the patriarch of the show has done some crazy, miraculous stunts and it's surprising he's still alive. Stewie, the baby steals the show every chance he can. He and Brian, the family dog, have the best episodes and stories, especially the Road episodes, which center around parodying the Road to films of Bob Hope.

The show is also full of songs and music, mostly originally written by MacFarlane and Walter Murphy. It's like having R rated versions of Randy Newman songs (which Newman has ironically been portrayed on the show as being mentally disabled). However, the songs are pretty funny and usually relevant.
