Chuck Berry & Bo Diddley's Rock 'n' Roll All Star Jam (1985)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry get their names above the title and this is certainly a tribute show to those two legends but we also get appearances by Ronnie Wood, Mick Fleetwood, Mitch Mitchell, Carl Wilson and several others.

The setlist includes: I'm a Man, Bo Diddley, Bo Put the Rock in Rock 'n Roll, My Ding a Ling, Destination, Who Do You Love, Gunslinger, Hey Bo Diddley and Rock 'n Roll Music. As you can tell, Diddley's career gets the majority of the running time but it's a lot of fun seeing everyone on the stage jammin'. This here was filmed at the Irvien Meadows Ampitheatre on October 25, 1985 and features both artists at the top of their game and really delivering an energetic set.

Throughout the music there are some interview segments with the various musicians backstage and just hanging out and having some fun. The highlight of these sequences is certainly the one where Wood offers up a drawing that he did of Diddley. You can't help but wonder where this is at now and what it might be worth.
