Story shows the genesis of the career and the rise of Esther the most beloved actress of most popular theater in Havana at the turn of the 19th century.
La Bella del Alhambra is a film that doesn't have the purpose to result a complicated drama. The result is a very good musical melodrama of the Cuban's musical theatre reality of the 20's and the 30's , especially of the Alhambra, a musical theatre were only admitted male public.
The argument is based of the "Cancion de Rachel", book writen by Miguel Barnet, who interview a famous vedette of the Alhambra, Rachel.
