Real historical figure Reinhard Heydrich plays an important role in the first two seasons. While the real Heydrich was assassinated by the Czech resistance in 1942, he survives in the reality of the series. Curiously, Heydrich survival is a recurrent theme in other alternate reality works, such as Robert Harris' Fatherland and Harry Turtledove's In Presence of Mine Enemies. Most historians agree that, had Heydrich lived in a victorious Third Reich, his temper, personality, ambition, extremism and age (he was younger than Hitler) could have made him clash with his superiors, and possibly Hitler himself. The series and its source material suggests that area of the United States left to minorities and other "undesirables" is a vast wasteland. In fact, the area shown on the maps in the series contains much of the most fertile land in the US, with Eastern Colorado and portions of Montana having excellent farmland. See more »

Watch season 1 and 2, then stop before it's too late
The first two season are great, worthy of 8 or maybe even 9/10! The plot idea is simple but effective, most characters are interesting and acted well (with some exceptions), and the plot twists are very good! Some of the characters's choices are terribly stupid and annoying, but the rest is so good that you can almost forgive them.
That is, the first two seasons. Season 3 is a total mess. Few interesting moments, but for the most part it became a serie that has no idea what it is and where it wants to go, with bunch of useless story lines that start nowhere and go nowhere.
Watch the first two seasons, they are worth it! But then stop there.
