John Glover and Peter Horton in Brimstone (1998)

Trivia

Brimstone

Edit
Brimstone is no longer available on DVD and cannot be found on Amazon or any other medium despite fanfare to have it released as such. As of January 27, 2018, "Brimstone is still 13th-ranked on TvShowsOnDvd.com's list of unreleased shows. On September 15, 2008, during a Home Theater Forum chat, Warner Home Video representatives said that "Despite the wonderful work of Peter Horton and John Glover, there are no plans at this time to release Brimstone".
Originally, 'John Glover' was to have only a recurring role in the series playing the Devil. However, after producers saw the chemistry between Glover and Peter Horton, he was made a regular cast member.
Episodes were confusingly originally aired out of order, the "true intended" order is as follows with the aired order in brackets: 1. Alter Boys (1), 2. Poem (5), 3. Heat (2), 4. Encore (3), 5. Slayer (7), 6. Repentance (4), 7. Executioner (6), 8. Ashes (8), 9. Lovers (9), 10. Carrier (10), 11. It's a Helluva Life (12), 12. Faces (11), 13. Mourning After (13).
When Stone was killed, he had only $36.27 in his pockets. When he comes back 15 years later, that's all he ever has, each day, no matter how much he spends. It's a reference to the Bible, Ezekiel 36:27: "And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgements, and do them."
Ezekiel Stone comments in an episode that when he was alive he was the most decorated Detective in the history of the West Manhattan Police precincts.
