Originally titled Next to You, was renamed after the Britney Spears song, "(You Drive Me) Crazy (The Stop Remix!)", was added to the soundtrack. To help promote the movie, Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier both appeared in the music video for the song.

One of the many references to old teen movies is when Nicole suggests that she and Chase cruise down the strip, just like all the kids did in American Graffiti (1973). A yellow deuce coupe like the one driven in the movie can be seen behind them when the stoplight turns green.

The scene where they are eating at an outside table at a drive-in restaurant was filmed at Kirt's in Ogden, Utah. Kirt's is a popular hang out for the local high school students. Kirt's changed its sign for the movie.

The Centennial scene was filmed in the rotunda of the Utah State Capitol, and local high schools actually have proms there.

Just before the question at the drive-in about having sex with Agent Scully from The X-Files (1993), when the establishing shot of the drive-in comes on the screen a light can be seen in the top right darting about in the sky like a UFO.

The "main street" of the show is Ogden, Utah's historic 25th street. The Union building shown in the background of that scene is a historic train depot. It houses museums today.

Many of the film's actors also had roles in Law & Order Specila Victims Unit (SVU) including Melissa Joan Hart, Stephen Collins, Lourdes Benedicto, Keri Lynn Pratt and Jordan Bridges. Gabriel Carpenter was not in SVU however, he did play a role in Law & Order in 2002. (JKV)
