Sierra plays a bored housewife, given to voice-over narration, a crutch way-overused in Cushman's script. She's introduced watching a busty stripper in a crummy club, where a live sex show ensues with stripper humped on stage by Peter North in a mask. Peter shows up later in a different role, as if the viewer can be easily fooled.
As the tile character Melanie, Sierra picks up Jonathan Morgan at the bar and goes home with him, eager for new experiences while being neglected by a husband once again out of town on a business trip.
Morgan's home has a lengthy corridor with many doors, looks like a set for a hotel movie rather than appropriate here. Anyway, it provides the usual vignette structure as folks are having sex in various bedrooms, and Morgan reveals that he's in the "I like to watch" camp, with cameras recording all the lovemaking so he can watch and collect the tapes.
Randy West plays a submissive masochist who craves being tied and chained up; North returns as a guy who digs a lady talking dirty to him, and a couple of lesbians, including a big-busted dom, do their thing. Melanie has sex with West, watches the lesbians go at it and finishes up in a BGG threesome with Morgan, he having to be forced to have sex rather than merely observe.
Gimmick here is that the participants at Morgan's home are volunteer captives, who prefer to be trapped there (they've been there months or even years already) rather than face the real world outside. Cushman's script offers a phony justification for their decision, and in his usual audience-insult fashion then cops out as Melanie succeeds in escaping by her voiceover announcing that she made up the whole thing we've been watching.
It adds up to a movie as stupid as the title pun riffing on that classic Righteous Brothers hit song.
