    Drugs and fashion.
Fernand Raynaud 's fifties black and white movies were substantially better than his sixties color ones, such as the abysmal " Salut Berthe ".

Although the movie is called "the Sicilian " , except for the first scene in Italian with subtitles, the action takes place in Paris, where a couturier (Raynaud ) from Lyon comes to start a couture house .A tough guy "the Sicilian " takes the same train : he is eagearly expected by the Parisian drug-traffickers he's supposed to "help" and rectify their not-so-lucrative business .

When he gets off the train, the gangster is arrested by the police who were waiting for him; the Parisian gangster's moll welcomes the fashion designer she mistakes for the expected mobster. She takes him to the nightclub ,the traffickers' den .When he tells them he intends to create a couture house , they are taken aback :but when he speaks of a perfume bottle which will be given to these who will buy models , they do believe that their new "boss" has found a great way to pass the dope; no sooner said than done: the nightclub is turned into a couture house.

Fernand Raynaud is ideally cast here as the naive fashion designer who has not got a clue ;seasoned actors such as Jess Hahn, Marcel Bozzuffi and Pascale Roberts provide good support .The screenplay is downright implausible, directing rather flat (Pierre Chevalier directed other Raynaud's movies "Fernand clochard" "La Marraine De Charley" ),but there are some moments of fun .If you do not ask too much......
