  • A two-episode original video animation (OVA), focusing on the life of the dragon Carmine. The first episode is set in the near future year of 1990 in Hokkaido. Dragons have made a re-appearance, but the Japan Self-Defense Forces are trying to eliminate them all. They blame the dragons for a recent series of violent deaths. The misanthropic girl Riko adopts the newborn red dragon Carmine, hoping that he will be an instrument in her revenge scheme against a corrupt world. Riko soon realizes that there are other threats in this world than mere humans. The second episode takes place several centuries later, in a post-apocalyptic world. Carmine is an adult dragon and lives alone, until the 15-year-old girl named Rulishia gains control over him and changes his name to Vermillion. She hopes to use him to avenge the murder of her father, but she soon has an emotional bond with the dragon. The world then faces an invasion by demons, and Carmine has to join other dragons in defending their home planet.—Dimos I
