The body of a clandestine Moroccan immigrant is discovered with his face mutilated. Simon Trapper, Commissioner of the homicide division, wants to take on the case as well as his colleague/rival Rachid from narcotics. Simon gets the upper hand. He has a particular interest in this affair as he is himself involved in a drama linked to Morocco. Under cover of a classic detective story, Marrakech takes the spectator into a triple level investigation: concerning the murder, the hero's own, carried out from a distance, and the psychological course he has to follow.
