Puttin' Out the Kitten

Scrappy puts the cat out for the evening. It's snowing outside and the kitten is very cold. Meanwhile, Scrappy dreams about the cat sneaking back in and getting into a lot of trouble in this engaging if overly sweet Mintz cartoon.

It's hard for me to figure out the point of view of this cartoon. I can't be sure if it's Scrappy dreaming, the cat in its pitiable state or a shared dream. Whichever it is, it's all very cute how affairs turn out, including wallpaper that moves in a hallucinatory dream. What is clear is that this is a well-produced cartoon with elaborately detailed background work and some elaborate animation.
