Storyline

John and Siri Lill are a couple who have been together for most of their forty something years, but are yet to be married. He works for a newspaper, and is a heavy drinker. She is a respected hairdresser, working for Birger, a commom friend. John, usually, bottle-in-hand is an ace at being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Tired of John's drinking, Siri decides to leave him and move to her parents' house. John's drinking then worsens, and their apartment becomes a mess. Siri decides to return to her and John's place, and that's when the Absolute Hangover really begins with a vengeance. Written by GMeleJr

Murphy's law on its head in Norway
4 November 1999 | by See all my reviews

This second feature from Norway's Petter Naess is absolutely hilarious. It follows the antics of a forty year old (unmarried) couple, and their crazy friends and family members. Add to that strange cast of characters, some colorful new arrivals, and Murphy's law spun madly out of control by wild, binge drinking parties Norwegian-style, and you have an ABSOLUTE HANGOVER, the English name of the film. It's an original slapstick comedy with characters that seem like ordinary people but are funnier than most characters comedy writers contrive. Don't miss it if it comes your way.
