The Queen of Hearts (1934)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

A deck of playing cards comes to life and the hearts decide to go off with their Queen. Everyone ends up in the kitchen where a special pie is made. THis Ub Iwerks cartoon really doesn't have anything too special about it but it does contain some great animation, which is about the only reason to check it out. As with most of his animated shorts from this era, the stories just don't have much going for them. The characters are rather boring and they just aren't interesting enough to make the short more interesting. If you're a fan of Iwerks then you'll want to check it out but others will find this only mildly amusing.
