Highly enriched Uranium 235 is the easiest material from which to build a nuclear bomb because you can use the extremely simple (if wasteful) "gun device", Hiroshima-type design instead of a highly complicated implosion design. Using weapons grade Uranium to build a relatively harmless "dirty bomb" is like hitting an enemy over the head with your gun instead of shooting him. It only seems plausible here because the radiological dangers of U235 have been blown out of proportion in the subplot with Bazhaev's son suffering from radiation poisoning. See more »

Now Cole Is In It!

Poor guy. Just fell in love with a woman with some pretty harsh secrets. That guy at CTU set everything in motion and he sought her out. Now there's some big fish to fry. Meanwhile, Renee is about to become the fall guy for a failed effort to find the nuclear material. Goodness, how can all this happen in such a short time? Jack is in his "get down to business" mode. There's always a jerk who is pulling strings He is the Chief of Staff to the President and he is full of self importance. There's a lot of stuff ready to go.
