Sex & Nudity

  • It is a complete thriller and historical based movie. No sex or nudity show in this movie. Few kissing scene between husband and wife. Few mild sexual references.

Violence & Gore

  • Two pilots fly a low-level photography sortie over Cuba and are fired upon by anti-aircraft guns and soldiers with guns (one of the jets is damaged by bullets, but returns home safely).
  • Soviet/Cuban forces fire missiles at a U.S. plane, eventually hitting and destroying it, killing the pilot.
  • the overall story and the tension that builds through it might be unsettling or suspenseful to some viewers.
  • Two military planes perform a low-altitude recon mission over Cuba and are fired up by Cuban anti-aircraft gunnery. They are damaged, but manage to return to their carrier safely. Unfortunately, a U2 spy plane makes a later high altitude reconnaissance mission over Cuba and is shot down by missiles.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Background smoking during meetings reflects the period in which it is set.
  • Many characters (including the President) are seen drinking alcohol.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are aerial recon missions where the pilots are told by White House staff that they can't be shot down or even admit to being attacked by the enemy to their superiors lest they give military command a pretext to escalating the situation in retaliation up to and including using nuclear weapons and thus enable to the Cuban Missile Crisis to explode into a full scale war.
